Frequently asked questions

Will the Word file look exactly like the PDF?
Text content is preserved and grouped by page, and simple layouts convert cleanly. Very complex layouts (multi-column magazines, forms with overlapping fields) may need light manual cleanup in Word.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Scanned PDFs contain images, not text. Run them through the OCR tool first to recover selectable text, then convert that to Word.
Which Word versions can open the result?
The tool outputs standard .docx, which opens in Microsoft Word 2007 and newer, Word for Mac, Word Online, Google Docs, LibreOffice and Pages.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Files are processed directly in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded to our servers, so your documents never leave your device.
Does it work on mobile?
